A Board & Care is a home in a residential community that provides assistance with the Activities of Daily Living. Some people may also refer to them as a care home, Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE), assisted living, or senior living home. Most board & care homes have a maximum capacity of six residents.

The Activities are Daily Living, or commonly referred to as ADL’s, are the basic skills someone needs in their daily life to care for themself. Additionally, there are Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, which are tasks that require more complex thinking and organization.

We were founded by Advanced Practice Nurse who is licensed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for older adults with over 35 years experience. We are deeply connected to the community with relationships in all areas of healthcare needs. At our homes, we highlight the importance of social engagement and contract with an activities director to provide daily connection opportunities with activities such as: bingo, trivia, art, and music. Our management team is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience.

Yes! A board & care community is licensed by the same division as large assisted living communities. We follow the guidelines provided by the California Department of Social Services though the Community Care Licensing Division.

Skilled Nursing Facility - An insurance based clinical setting with 24 hour nursing oversight and daily therapy services. The main focus typically is for short term rehabilitation. Different examples of patients may be post surgery rehab, stroke recovery, or wound treatment.

Assisted Living Community - Large, hotel-like facility that is based on a social model and typically private pay. There is a major focus on amenities and activities, as well as assistance with the Activities of Daily Living. Typical Resident-to-Caregiver ratio is anywhere between 10:1 or 20:1.

Board and Care - Smaller, home-like feel with a more intimate care setting and is based in a residential home within a neighborhood. There is a strong emphasis on customized care plans and easy accessibility to management. They are typically a maximum capacity of six residents and are private pay. The average Resident-to-Caregiver ratio during the day is 4:1.

Each of our rooms are priced individually based on room availability and care needs. We offer a wide range of room accommodations to work with many different budgets including: private rooms, private master suites, shared master suites, and shared rooms.

Yes! All of our rooms come fully furnished with a bed, dresser, nightstand, and chair. If you prefer to bring your own furniture, you are more than welcome to. We also encourage you to bring family photos and decor to make the room feel like home.
